As a journalist I've covered everything from the hunt for Pablo Escobar in Colombia, to the wars in the former Yugoslavia, to the Tsunami, in Bandeh Aceh, Indonesia. Along the way I've received 5 Emmys and numerous other awards. For 10 years I anchored and reported the news in Chicago. I've worked as a correspondent for NBC News. I have reported live on ABC's Nightline, NBC's the Today Show, CNN, and MSNBC, as well as having my work appear on every major broadcast news outlet. I began my journalistic career as a freelance photojournalist for United Press International and Time Magazine, covering the wars in Central America. I now run a marketing films company, Aviana Productions, based in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and San Francisco, California.
