Born in Kenya, kumi became a trance artist because he 'liked to share music with other people." When I was younger, I'd listen to a radio show on east Africa FM which used to play dance music on Friday nights". "I really liked how the DJ would remix and cut up different tracks, this really inspired me".

After high school kumi join the well know homeboys production school where he learned music production and also how to DJ. After graduating top of his class Kumi set out into the world of electronic music.

After a few year Kumi has become one of the leading trance arts in Kenya and eastern Africa.
