I was born in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to the United States when I was 16. I am a second year Ph.D. student of Rhetoric and Composition at Purdue University, where I teach film and English composition. My areas of interest are film, pop culture, minority rhetorics, women's studies and public rhetorics. I am also a documentary filmmaker. I seek to integrate rhetoric and documentary filmmaking throughout my career, and to produce the kind of written and video work that makes us question our assumptions about gender, race, immigration and sexuality.
