Gianfranco Firriolo was born in Milan, Italy, in 1970.
He was educated at the Civica Scuola del Cinema in Milan and was an avid viewer of art house films.
Since 1997 he has cinematographed spaces and cities of the world for the famous Italian TV's lifestyle magazine "Nonsolomoda" -- thus he calls himself a stateless person.
His experience with the Milan art movement "Caravanserraglio" led to his first projects as a director of independent documentaries and video clips.
In 2007 he started collaborating with Vinicio Capossela and went on to direct his music clip "Il Gigante e il Mago" (2008) and the video of his live tour "SoloShow Alive!"(Warner 2009)
"La faccia della Terra (The face of the Earth)" (Feltrinelli 2010) close his personal visual "trilogy" around Capossela's last album world. Is his first medium-length film.
