Molly Anne Coogan is an actor, writer, musician, director, producer originally from Northern California. With a deep passion for the development of new works, Molly has appeared in readings, workshops, and world premieres on both coasts. She has appeared with The Civilians, The O'Neill Theatre Center, Ars Nova, TheatreWorks, The Magic Theatre, terraNOVA Collective, Red Fern Theatre, and more. Her original work has been developed with residencies by The Williamstown Theatre Festival and SPACE on Ryder Farm.
She is a frequent performer at Ars Nova, where she wrote, directed, and performed in the show Stairway to Stardom based on the 1980’s public access TV show of the same name (she wore spandex). She has also hosted their monthly variety show Showgasm and performed in their 54/10 music marathon with her band.
Molly is a contributing writer and cast member of the webseries, Hot Mess, which got a shout out on Jimmy Fallon’s blog, appears in the webseries Chaos Theory, and in the music video for her song It Could Be. She is a proud volunteer and teaching artist at the 52nd Street Project, helping inner city kids create original theatre. She loves photo booths and the word "burgled." She refuses to pass a lemonade stand without buying a glass.
If an apple pie and a glass of bourbon had a baby, it would be Molly & The Class Acts. That pretty little baby would live in a cabin on a lake and its cries would be the sounds you'd hear sitting on the back of your Uncle Bob's porch in years past. Lead by actress, writer, and all around gal with moxie, Molly Anne Coogan, Molly & The Class Acts serves up simple songs with a li'l kick in the pants. Their debut EP, Dropping Anchor, is available on Bandcamp: mollyannecoogan.bandcamp.com/
