I am a classical guitarist.
I have been experimenting with mixing the raw acoustic sound with a bit of synthesizer to color the sound. This gives me basically six independent voices, one for each string. I use no backing tracks or overdubs- just a realtime mix of guitar and my 2 synths. The guitar sound is additionally processed with a POG octave box and some compression, EQ and reverb.
So far I have been very conservative in my use of synthesizer sounds, but next I plan to get more adventurous and let the synth sounds become more prominent.
I currently use a Bela Gemza cedar top guitar made in 1976. It is modified with RMC brand piezo pickups and an external MIDI converter. (Axon-50)
I use a Canon Vixia HF200 HD camcorder and run the sound from my rack based system directly from the phones output into the stereo mic input via an attenuator cable.
