The African Biodiversity Network (africanbiodiversity.org) and The Gaia Foundation (gaiafoundation.org) work with individuals, organizations, and networks across Africa to regenerate healthy ecosystems, enhance traditional knowledge and practices for land, seed, food and water sovereignty, and to strengthen community self-governance. This enables communities to become more resilient to climate change and related challenges.
We invite you to see and hear some of the 'stories of change' and the voices of local and indigenous communities.
Our global network of partners - the African Biodiversity Network, Institute for Culture and Ecology (Kenya), MELCA-Mahiber (Ethiopia), RAINS (Ghana), Mupo Foundation (South Africa), Gaia Amazonas (Colombia) and Navdanya (India), among others - encourage community-led solutions, work especially with elders and traditional knowledge-holders, and use innovative methodologies such as eco-cultural mapping.
