Brother and sister team, Ryan and Kassidy Brown began the Timberland Journey of Action Tour in Juneau, Alaska on Oct. 4. The pair is traveling down the west coast and ending their adventure sometime next year in Argentina.
The Nashville, Tennessee natives created Journey of Action, which is dedicated to seeking out and highlighting non-profits, social entrepreneurs and educational systems that are making an impact locally and/or globally. They will be producing and broadcasting weekly webisodes documenting their travels in an effort to inform and inspire young people to take action in their own lives and make a difference. Non-profit partners involved with the tour include the UN Foundation, Do Something, Ashoka, Oceana, and many others.
Timberland, a global leader in outdoor footwear, clothing and accessories, has signed on to sponsor the North American portion of the journey.
“Timberland has a strong history of community engagement and environmental stewardship,” states Maile Buker, Timberland’s senior director of North America marketing. “The partnership with Journey of Action complements Timberland’s strong earthkeeping values and is a great way to highlight the powerful impact made by non-profit organizations as well as passionate individuals.”
The Belmont University graduates have traveled to more than 20 countries on six continents, and have spent the last year researching and networking with other social leaders of Generation Y.
