the Canon's OIS kinda sucks, I mean it's not horrible but because the cam is so light its hard to stabilize it. If IS's so important to you get Sony XR500/520. People say it's amazing in this respect

im not sure what you meant by hazy. it was pretty muggy outside and some scenes were shot from inside the car. That was the 1st time i used the camera save for a few mins of testing at home. Im sure it worked fine. All im saying is the cinemode is very flat, and unless im specifically going for this flat look i wont be using it again.

I've decided to keep the Canon and sell the Sony. From all my testing i can tell that Canon's PQ is on par with or better than Sony's, Canon's got a slightly wider DR and better lo lite. Canon has these different frame rates and cadences that i may or may not use, but it's good they are there. Canon doesn't smear as much as sony on pans (better code?), Canon has a very nice slow zoom speed that i always missed in Sony. IS i think is kinda the same btwn these 2 cams( i was hopeful Canon's OIS will help with my shaky hands). I tend to like Sony's colors better but with a touch of CC colors can be changed anyway.
