Very interesting concept, especially the idea to separate the touch sensitive surface from the screen. But talking about muscular pain, I have the feeling that having to leave your fingers touching the surface if you want to track your position requires too much effort. I think we miss one last bit: the ability to track individual fingers even when they are floating a few centimeters away from the surface. We would need a prototype to test it on real humans...
