After moving to the Los Angeles area from the Great Lakes/Rustbelt area with virtually no contacts, I advanced from digital painter to character layout within six years, earning an Emmy Certificate on the third season of “King of the Hill”. It was a privilege to work in the animation field. This was a goal I had had since grade school.
Currently, I serve as a Maya teaching adjunct at the Woodbury University animation department in Burbank, where I first taught with lead instructors Alina Chau and Arno Kroner. This has been an incredible learning experience for me as well. Working under our Department Chair Dori Littell-Herrick has provided me with much career preparation, inspirational and learning opportunities. I feel that broader experiences like this helps creative professionals succeed in the long run.
I am also the Lab Administrator at the Animation Guild in Los Angeles. At the TAG Lab, I help traditional animation artists use computer graphic resources in a more user friendly and effective way. My efforts at the Lab have helped some artists find new positions in the animation business, and some new high tech areas as well.
My career goal is to find employment, and contribute my technical, problem solving and creative skills to the success of a growing studio.
My personal goal is develop an online character franchise. You can see the groundwork at
