Johan Thelander works with dance and choreography and is based in Stockholm. He is currently co-director of Hybris Konstproduktion, an organisation that is active in choreographic production, organisation, cultural political discussion and strategy development. Since 2006 he has worked in the user run network organisation Inpex, that works to intensify and cultivate the individual's international relations and the possibility of collaboration in the domain of dance and choreography. Furthermore he is a co-initiator of Mychoreography, an informal organisaion that has since 2008 undertaken some serious research into the depths of choreographic practices.
In the last three years he has worked with Gunilla Heilborn and has also danced and collaborated with artists such as Anna Koch, Malin Hellkvist Sellén, Anne-Teresea de Keersmaeker and Mårten Spångberg. He carries a Master degree in choreography from the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm and his former education he apropriated at P.A.R.T.S. (Performing, Arts, Research and Training Studios) in Brussels and at the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm.
