Missing Piece Films missingpiece.co.za is a boutique film studio based in Cape Town, South Africa that preserves memories of life events. We are filmmakers, not videographers. The traditional videography product documents the day as it happened, in exact detail. The camera is set up and whatever falls into frame is captured in real time. Delivered final video is usually several hours of footage.

Filmmakers on the other hand spend time getting to know their subject. We control, interpret and enhance what falls into our frame, just like a movie you'd watch. Our unique challenge is filming live events with only one opportunity to get the shot! I relish this challenge with great zest! The manifestation of an artistic story involves the Subject (Bride and Groom), the sense of place (your Venue), other Characters (Guests, Family, Bridal Party), and technical decisions such as composition, lighting, lens selection, cinematic tool selection such as steadicams and sliders, audio acquisition and sound score selection, editing, and color grading. Filmmakers, unlike the standard "videography" product, will choose the best moments from your day and artfully compose them into a "short form" wedding film that tells a story.
