It's all about storytelling and I've been blessed to work with a wide range of talented folks. Everyday I'm reminded how challenging and interesting our field can be. In my short career I’ve covered the gridiron of the NFL, the tragic shooting at Virginia Tech, the first inauguration of President Obama, and the papal election of Pope Francis.
My passion for the craft of storytelling has earned my 20 Emmy© awards by the National Capital and Lone Star Chapters of the National Academy of Television Arts and Science. I’ve been nominated over 30 times. In 2011 as a member of the Investigative Unit at KTRK-TV in Houston our team was awarded with the prestigious Investigative Reporters and Editors Medal for our work “exposing a culture of corruption among the county’s entrenched constables that included appropriating charity and campaign funds.” . As a member of the photography staff at WAVY-TV in Norfolk I helped propel the staff to back-to-back Station of the Year awards given by the National Press Photography Association in 2009/2010. I’ve also been honored to receive 5 Regional Edward R. Murrow awards, 13 Associated Press awards, a National Headliners award, the Texas Headliners Charles E. Green award, and 9 Houston Press Club awards.
In 2013 I was honored to join the Al Jazeera Media Network, as a member of their Investigative Unit. I had long been a consumer of Al Jazeera's news content and their bold journalism. I've joined an impressive team of experienced reporters, producers, data experts, and filmmakers across 3 continents. The future is bight for storytelling and I look forward to the world seeing our work.
