I have been fly fishing since 1963. My oldest brother got me interested in fly fishing. A friend and I watched him practice casting at a small stream near my brother's house. We kidded him about all of the paraphernalia involved, but I did like watching the fly line being cast. It wasn't long before I bought my own fly rod, waders and vest. A few flies from Japan and I was on the stream. Well, one thing led to another and soon enough I bought a vise, tying tools and materials to tie flies with. My friend held to his view that there was too much stuff involved with fly fishing. Eventually he came around. It took 39 years, but what's the rush! Now he can't get enough of fly fishing. We get together as often as we can to fish our local rivers. My brother passed away in 2007. The last time I saw him alive was when we were fishing. He and I fished the NE states, the Catskills, Pennsylvania, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. We had some great times during our 44 years of fishing together.
