Since 1979, Nancy Williams has practiced as a speech and language pathologist in Tucson, Arizona. She was appointed the rehabilitation supervisor at Children’s Rehabilitation Services and remained in that position until she formed a private practice in 1982. She partnered in a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy organization named Pueblo Pediatric Therapy and created her solo practice, Therapeutic Bodyworks, in 2001.
In December of 2000, Nancy earned her Adept Instructor of Hatha Yoga through The Yoga Connection in Tucson, Arizona. At the time of her certification, she realized that yoga had integral parallels to the therapeutic technique, neuro developmental therapy, a program in which Nancy had been certified in 1986. This awareness aroused her professional curiosity and launched a nine-year practice of therapeutic yoga for the special needs population.
The results of her studies and practice are documented in a book titled “Yoga Therapy for Every Special Child—Meeting Needs in a Natural Setting.” Nancy continues to serve a myriad population of special needs children with her yoga therapy protocol and offers topical workshops, lectures and demonstrations for occupational, physical and speech therapists, psychologists, educators and the parents of special children.
Nancy has acquired a broad range of skills and knowledge for alternative therapy and healing methodologies. She is a master Reiki teacher; a certified Zero Balancing practitioner; an adept Hatha yoga instructor; and a level I and II graduate of the Upledger Institute cranial sacral therapy. She was awarded a master’s degree in spiritual science from the Peace Theological Seminary in 2003 and is an ordained minister with the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. Her instructional and treatment methodologies focus on yoga therapy for every special child.
