Amanda Long is a video sculptor whose installations investigate light, color, perception and universality. Her work has been exhibited at the Mattress Factory Museum, the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, the 1708 Gallery and Pixilerations v.7 in Providence Rhode Island. Long received her MFA in Art from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010 and her BFA in Sculpture and Extended Media from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. Her new media project, Lighter and Lighter is the recipient of the University Film and Video Association's Carole Fielding Grant 2010. Long was a Fine Artist in residence in 2009 and a Tough Artist in residence in 2010 at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh where she created interactive videos "White Light", "Silly Faces" and the "Motion Machine" for young children and their caretakers.
