I’m a filmmaker from Ireland who works in both fiction and documentary. After graduation, I began working as a writer/producer with Sónta Films, a Galway-based production company. With Sónta I developed and produced a number of documentary films which were commissioned by TG4, Ireland’s Gaelic language broadcaster.
‘Che’ (2007) is a four-part series that seeks to assess the importance of Che Guevara’s legacy in Latin America today in the midst of sweeping political change. ‘Home in India’ (2008) is a film following two sisters from Connemara making their first ever visit to India- the land of their father.
My directorial debut was the short film ‘An Cluiche’ (2012) which premiered at the Dingle International Film Festival. Recently I directed ‘Síle’ (2013), a TV drama for TG4 that concerns the story of a teenage girl struggling with adolescence. I’m also involved in visual art projects and my video installation ‘Fís Inseacht’ (2012), a cinematic exploration of Gaelic folklore, has been exhibited at the Galway Fringe Festival and most recently in Berlin.
In 2013 I was selected to take part in the Talent Campus training programme of Berlinale (The Berlin International Film Festival) and also in Archidoc, a training program for film directors run by La Fémis (The National French Film School).
