DP/Cameraman/ Educator; 25+ years shooting film and video on location in jungles, on high peaks, on snow, rivers and oceans. My niche has been quick moving verité camerawork on a variety of topics including cultural issues, wildlife, expeditions, environmental, architecture, you name it. Always learning and striving and having a helluva good time. I have my own self generated projects and I work for hire as a producer and DP/Cameraman for a wide range of high profile and international clients.
In recent times I have been teaching courses on verité film making and the DSLR camera revolution. I developed some very useful equipment for the video DSLRs, which I use regularly.
Recent work includes industrial videos for prominent corporations, artist profiles for museums, art, architecture and history films for The Aspen Institute, and Director of Photography credit on the PBS Independent Lens premier documentary "Welcome To Shelbyville" about a typical American town that grapples with an influx of immigrants and refugees, screening May 24, 2011 nationwide on PBS and playing in select theaters around the country. See the trailers on my Youtube Channel. youtube.com/user/aspenmovingmedia?feature=mhee
I was Director of Photography on The Movement, a documentary featured at The 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
