Anti-oppression political artist, Coco Riot believes that art is not a tool for social change but social change itself. Loving wandering and exploring how the public sphere is related to our intimate feelings, they re-envision spaces of “belonging” in relation to urban landscapes, politics, poetry and personal experience, celebrating the creation of gaps, borderlands, words and beauty in which to belong. Their works (videos, installations, drawings, zines, prints) have been shown in contemporary art spaces in New York, Montreal and Europe aswell as in feminist and queer events in North America, Europe and Asia. Coco Riot is presently working on a multimedia project in collaboration with spoken-word artist Luna Allison.
