Based in Sydney, the company directors are Rachel Perkins and Darren Dale. Prior to freelancing, both were employed by various organisations including the ABC, SBS, and CAAMA Productions. Blackfella Films contracts freelance indigenous practitioners in key roles on a project basis, and currently has projects in development with Stephen Page, and has previously worked with Warwick Thornton, Jonathon Jones, Beck Cole, Erica Glynn, Romaine Morton and Professor Marcia Langton
