Shannon Braine is a professional modern dancer in the DC Metro Area, currently performing with Christopher K. Morgan and Artists. She is also a free-lance videographer, editor, and multimedia specialist. Shannon has created multiple projection designs for local choreographers and specializes in the documentation of artists and dance companies. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University’s Department of Dance, with a special emphasis on dance technology. During her graduate studies, Shannon developed an interest in exploring innovative ways to combine technology with the art of dance. Since moving to Washington, D.C. in January 2009, she has been fortunate to work with artists such as CityDance Ensemble, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Gesel Mason, Cynthia Oliver, Benjamin Levy, and other visiting artists, as a dance technologist. In her association with FilmWorks, Shannon toured the Middle East and South America as the videographer for CityDance Ensemble. Shannon believes it is essential for dance to continue to flourish, evolve, and remain an integral part of our life, in our rapidly changing world.
