Flagstaff based photographer James ‘Q’ Martin was born in the desert, raised in Alaska, Q has an intimate relationship with the outdoor world and a talent for capturing brilliant images. Leading companies such as Mountain Hardwear and Patagonia have entrusted him to travel the world in search of the perfect image. .
Q recently delved into more than photography as the co-founder of the Rios Libres Project (RL) he now wears the additional hats of film maker and conservationist. The RL project is bringing awareness to an ill-conceived plan to build mega hydroelectric dams in Patagonia, Chile. He co-produced an award wining short film, ‘Power in the Pristine’ is being featured internationally. Q continues to bring timely media to the world. His current project seeks to raise public awareness on the uranium mines that threaten the Grand Canyon’s watersheds and surrounding Wild Lands.
