I enjoy imagery & nature, still or moving. Basically I'm just an outdoor junkie. If not out on my own adventure I am usually recruited to be part of a friend's. I nearly always pack some sort of image recording device for the memories. I have used simple tools: everything from an i-pod nano, compact point 'n shoot, to a DSLR and GoPro. Editing is done on a Mac laptop. I started with imovie and now am using FCPX.
Great film artists I appreciate are folks like Alfred Hitchcock who was cleaver, witty and used simple production values to create masterpieces. I also love all of the innovative stuff derived from big sensors, lenses software and really talented, creative folks expressing their visions on Vimeo!
In years past I coordinated and taught video production in a public access TV facility, shot and produced public affairs TV, local entertainment, behind the scenes sports programming, commercials and promotional video.
My production fell off when my eyes started getting old, but now we just aim a go pro without any viewfinder at all. Go figure! Any way I like to capture the essence of an experience. It is also my hope to get people to value what's around them and care for their future by sharing my views and images. Lately I find myself fixated on fish, their beauty and the surrounding in which they inhabit. That's it; simple.
Life is what you make it.
