Human trafficking is a crime against humanity. It is the buying and selling of human beings that involves recruiting, transporting, transferring, harboring or receiving a person through the use of force, coercion or other means for the purpose of exploiting.
The most common form of human trafficking in the United States is commercial sexual exploitation. Traffickers are commonly referred to as pimps, and they coerce youth to enter the sex industry through the use of a variety of recruitment and control mechanisms in strip clubs, street-based prostitution and escort services. American pimps particularly target vulnerable youth, such as runaways and the homeless. The average age of entry into prostitution in the U.S. is 12 to 14 years old.
Revolt: (v.) to refuse to obey the constraints imposed by another, to rise up against the injustice of modern day sex slavery, to break the shackles of abuse, to get out of line, to rock the boat, to take up arms, to work to eradicate the commercial sexual exploitation of women and children with purchasing power.
By shopping at Shoe Revolt, consumers (MEN and WOMEN) are taking a stand against the sexual exploitation of women and children here in the United States.
All are invited to join:
It's neither a religious issue nor a political issue; it's a human rights issue that we ALL need to fight for.
