Druskq
I'm Druskq, part of a 'motiongroup' called Fhs73 along with two of my best friends (Ecco and Thijs). We formed under this name in 2005. I met them at the same academy.
We've been working together on several videoprojects (a selection is posted here). Eversince we've been hanging around we realised we get along so well, so we decided to keep working together in the future, professionally. I hope we'll be able to do more projects in the same Psychedelic/Surreal kind of style we've been doing so far.
We're saving up for a pro-sumer camera as we've heavily been relying on renting the equipment from school. Although that's totally free, they're barely available, and its so much better to have your own stuff and be able to experiment with it, whenever you want.
Right now, I'm doing my intern, so I may be abscent for long periods, although I'll try to check Vimeo from time to time.

3 days agoHe commented on The derelict radio station.Thank you. I've used several ones, including Foundry Tinderbox and Cineeffects I believe. Mostly Foundry, anyway. And some manual distortion using stock footage, repositioning, duplicating, slicing.

Well, I'm still using a pc. I have seen some wicked particle effects coming out of Motion though, but I haven't seen anything too convincing as of yet. AE Particular is just so incredibly versatile. Besides, I use my pc to play games, quite often too. (I believe Motion is Mac only?)
All in all, I d%uFFFD wan't to move on to something more advanced, since After Effect's 3D capabilities, is rather limited. I have some knowledge of Maya 3D and I think I'll gradually expand towards that and integrate it with my AE workflow(It has awesome particle systems, not to mention all the other stuff, endless.). Not to mention Maya-Live having outstanding tracking capabilities. (50% cloverfield was motiontracked in using Maya) -

My school's name is Saxion Hogeschool, in Enschede. I'm studying "Kunst & Techniek" or "Toegepastte Kunst & Techniek" as they call it nowadays. However I don't think they're presenting any student work online. They're not known, supposedly never will be if they don't drastically change their policies =). -

Anyhows, I'll keep it english in case other people have the same question.
Our workflow did not involve that much software. We basically made the mood/storyboard on paper, it was drawn quite detailed by Ecco.
Moving on, the filming done with a simple handycam followed by capturing using winDV, free software.
We did not use a dedicated video editing package, but rather moved the whole thing into After Effects right away. All the cutting happened inthere.
Then came the circus of adding post-effects, still using After Effects and on top of that, 2d3's Boujou 3D-tracking the camera movement. Parallel to this, Thijs and Ecco worked on the audio using Cubase.
There you go :)

The place is called Kootwijk, near Apeldoorn. the first building is Radio Kootwijk, it has some great historical value too. -

I've also been working with another matchmoving software during my intern. It's called Syntheyes, be sure to check that one out as well :)

Ok... awesome. The song is from Good Bye, Lenin. I also think that that may be the name of the song... not sure... only got a 30 second preview from iTunes (no more money left right now so I can't buy it and be certain...)
