Lauren Birnbaum a dancer and choreographer currently based in Tel Aviv, Israel. She is originally from Palm Harbor, FL where she spent her early years dancing at Steps School of Dance. She attended the North Carolina School of the Arts on scholarship where she studied with Melissa Hayden and Christine Spizzo. She completed her BFA in Dance at Florida State University. Lauren has danced with Richmond Ballet and Tallahassee Ballet and performed works by Petipa, George Balanchine, Kathryn Cashin and Rick McCullough. She moved to New York in 2006 and has since danced with Collective Body Dance Lab, Contemporary Ballet Theatre, T. Lion Dance/Body Stories as well as choreographers Yesid Lopez and Tomiko Magario. As a choreographer she has created three works for the Columbia Ballet Collaborative and participated in numerous dance festivals as a free-lance choreographer in New York City and Chicago. She is currently working on a new project in Israel as well as teaching Pilates, taking regular ballet and Gaga classes and enjoying life in the Middle East.
