Todor Christov commented on 16:9 video shows in 4:3

Hi Daniel and thank you for your feedback. I have searched for other people with the same problem and here is what I found ( http://www.vimeo.com/forums/topic:15892 ): Quote: vimeo always converts my new 16:9-videos into 4:3 without asking. I have not had this problem before (with files from same camcorder, edited with same software, exported in the same file type...) It's recorded in 16:9, edited in 16:9, and exported in 16:9, all in standard PAL-Definition (720x576). i have absolutely the same problem. I have been shooting all my videos with the same camera in the same format. Before I was able to achieve 16:9 effect, now all I got is 4:3. Does that mean that in the recent past there were some changes in Vimeo converting algorithm and even though I was able to achieve 16:9 with the same video before (like 720x576), it is not possible anymore. For example - I am able to upload the very same 720x576 viudeo on YouTube and I have widescreen 16:9 effect. But I cannot do this on Vimeo anymore. Just asking for a little more clarification because I was able to publish widescreen 16:9 video on Vimeo before and am still able to do so on YouTube with the very same raw original source video. I will appreciate your feedback. Todor

The original source of this video of mine is again 720x576, but it can be views in 16:9 in Vimeo player after all upload and conversion operations - http://vimeo.com/5124742 Why is that?
