Thor works as both an Artist creating site-specific installations and as a Sound Designer in the theatrical and performance realm.
He also draws on both these fields of practice to work in education (incl both schools & University colleges), to develop alternate forms of learning, the creative use of ICT media and to engage with sound as a contextual and spatial tool to investigate our environment.

The site, its fabric and its users are all integral to Thor's work, thus video and images & text often offer the most suitable medium to document his work. Within educational projects Thor often uses video and time-lapse capture to work actively and spatially with students. -Examples of which are posted here as a Teachers reference.

Thor’s creative practice developed out of early explorations of Television, as both object and subject for critical enquiry. What began with the physical dissection of the complicit elements of sound and vision, lead into a long term pre-occupation with the notion of ‘Soundtrack’ and more particularly the relationship between the nebulous and invisible substance of ‘sound’ and its physical tangible context.
