Masa Revolution is a bilingual documentary about how inexpensive Mexican street food inspired a pop-culture gourmet phenomenon.

The film captures the two faces of the food truck scene in Los Angeles: Spanish-speaking immigrants and food-savvy hipsters. The industry is split along cultural, social and economic lines. It's also governed by a singular set of laws.

To garner more accountability from the booming industry, L.A. County officials have recently extended the health department's popular restaurant grading system to food trucks. City officials are debating new parking regulations that would restrict where catering trucks can pull over and how long they can stay put.

Masa Revolution explores the social and economic implications of these changes and how restaurant operators are dealing with the sudden competition of mobile food vendors.
