I was born in Wageningen, the Netherlands in 1986. I studied Visual Anthropology at The University of Manchester (MA) and am now working as a self employed filmmaker in Amsterdam. When I'm making documentaries I am interested in the perspective and life views of my filmsubject, capturing this in such a way that it is comprehensible for the intended audience. Something I learned in anthropology, which is applicable to all aspects of life is the idea that anyone you meet should be your teacher, as they are experts of something- that is, their own lives and viewpoints. I believe that it is possible to make an interesting film about anyone you will ever meet, when you try to convey their truth. This I find to be true when I make corporate films, as well as in the documentary films I've been able to produce. The 'research eye', that wants to be surprised, always brings more than I could have ever imagined!
