Iva Kontić (b. Belgrade, 1982) graduated in painting from Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan (2006) and studied filmmaking at Scuola Civica di Cinema Televisione e Nuovi Media, Milan (2007). She received her M.A. in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London, London (2010).
Iva's work has been shown internationally in various solo and group exhibitions, art and film festivals (29th Kasseler Documentary Film Fesitval, 24th European Media Art Festival, MADATAC #3, Espacio Enter Film Festival, Mikser Festival, Biennale Teheran, etc). She was finalist of several art prizes and won the Chelsea Arts Club Trust Award and grant for “Best Open Artist Project” (2009). She had studio residency at The Woodmill Project, London (2010-2011), and was the finalist of AIR and public-art project “Le Cite des Curiosites”, Marseille (2011). She was among the selected participants of VISIO European Workshop for Artist’s Cinema, Florence (2012).
Currently, Iva is doing her Ph.D in Multimedia Arts at University of Arts in Belgrade.
