Africa Media Online is based in Pietermaritzburg South Africa. We call ourselves a digital trade route providing lots of cool stuff - systems and services - to allow Africans to tell Africa's story to a global audience. We work mainly with professional photographers and heritage organisations providing training in digital imaging and reaching a global audience, digitisation of analogue media collections, presentation of those media collections on the internet, and representation of those media collections to publishing and broadcast markets around the world. Our real speciality is working with photographic collections. We use Vimeo to be able to give away a lot of really useful information for free, particularly on Shutha.org, to empower photographers in the Majority World to compete in the global media market.
