Zhang Yan (1986) is a young visual designer, who has just achieved her master degree on Media Design and Communication in Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam. She comes from Shanghai, a huge city melting together diverse cultures, which cultivated her as an open-minded person. Yan's works now focus mainly on short animation, and use mixed-media technique to combine reality and fantasy within one single image. In terms of the content, she is fascinated in culture and everyday life, attempting to use visual language to read and express the world.
