Yasmeen Fanari, from Damascus, Syria, is a Said Foundation and Chevening Scholar finished her Masters degree in illustration and animation at Kingston University London. Previously, she worked as the creative art director for ArtWare Media (2006-2008) and Star Animation (2004-2006) in Damascus. Her work in animation has been recognised with the 2009 Grant for Young Talents at the Damascus Capital of Culture festival for her short animated film, ‘Shabab Souri’, profiling Syria’s youth. She is currently residing between Damascus, Paris and London where she works as a freelance animator and illustrator. Her client List includes UNICEF Syria, MBC Dubai and HECAT Studio Paris.
