The Sideshow Production Freaks have reached nearly legendary status in neck break timing. Primarily due to the success of their Rock 'N' Roll Cabaret. The Rock 'N' Roll Cabaret experience can be best described as a Russ Meyer motion picture shot under a giant striped tent. You know, with that wild haired madman blaring out Mozart scores from a pipe organ, that probably started it's life inside of a Gothic Church. Now, cross that previous visual with this image. A Mod party scene, that gorgeous girl with the jet black bobbed hair, sipping on a dry martini and the shimmering pool in the background. This gives you a good idea of the feel and atmosphere that has come to be within this particular event. All of this coming together to create a unique experience known as the Rock 'N' Roll Cabaret.
This hot spot, which oozes cool has become the location to be, for all of Southern California's Pin Up Models and the modern day hipsters. Generating a fiery atmosphere, due to more reasons than one, yet primarily because of the fore-mentioned lovely ladies. Where else can you view the artwork from today's most unique artist's alive all at one location? While, some may actually appear to be deceased though, you will occasionally catch the movement by a limb or so. Therefore providing proof that the Sideshow Production Freaks did not stop by the local morgue to pick up a cadaver or two. Which may have appeased to the viewing pleasure of those morbid individual's that are present, as well. On the opposite side of the spectrum, there are the lively sets by many outstanding performers, which make for a well rounded evening. Let's not forget to mention the burlesque dancers shimming and shaking, right out of a 1960's beatnik flick. Along with the elegant performances that they do so well. We haven't even shed light on the amazing musicians that walk through the door to either entertain or be entertained!
One way to describe these functions, would be to categorize them ( if you can, categorize them ) as a Social Event. These functions go well beyond your typical music show or night club. As a Social Networking Event primarily revolving around art and the artists coming together, which allows them all to appreciate the various creations and mediums utilized in there respected fields. Many artists, including such individuals as Painters, Dancers, Customizers, Sculptors, Performers, Musicians and and and, all hanging out and conversing with each other. Bringing the Heavy Hitters, Movers and Shakers together, this group will continue to bring all of the various alternative individuals for whom they cater to. Sideshow Production Freaks consists of Raul Salas, Misa Garcia, Seth Borden, Robert Miranda along with Dj Hellhound ( Jorge Romero ). To really get an idea of what goes on, you need to have some understanding of those who are involved with putting these events together. One individual is a highly sought after graphic arts designer, another a multi-media expert, along with an automotive designer/customizer and a group of talented dj's, amongst others. Having tapped into there resources and contacts, these folks have put together some very memorable nights, not to mention, many more presently in the works. The Rock 'N' Roll Cabaret is held every last Friday of the month @ Vertigos Bar & Grill, 801 W. Temple St. Downtown Los Angeles CA 90012. Strictly for the 21 and over mature clientele base.
So basically, if you take some Rock 'N' Roll ( with all of it's bastard offspring, ie: Punk Rock, Garage, New Wave, Psychobilly, Surf, Rockabilly and spice it up with a little bit of Soul ). Mix that with some beautiful women mingling and dancing, live musical performances from amazing bands from all through out the world, many famous sideshow performers and Los Angeles' best Rock 'N' Roll dj's, you can start to get an idea of what the Rock 'N'' Roll Cabaret is all about.
