I am an author and filmmaker and a former journalist whose 30-odd books range from Glenda Jackson: A Study in Fire and Ice, Birds in the Garden, Lives of the Great Composers, and Audrey Hepburn: Fair Lady of the Screen (never out of print since first published in 1984). Bee Gees keyboardist Rudi Dobson composed the tracks for an album, Fair Lady of the Screen (President Records), based on my biography. When Hollywood director John Landis was shooting his film An American Werewolf in London, he gave each cast and crew member a copy of my book A Werewolf Delusion to help with background research. My interests are wildlife and ornithology in particular and the natural sciences in general (I am a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London), Tudor history (particularly the Elizabethan era), classical music, and - of course! - making video films.
