Struggling with the economics of a tiny Southern California Desert known as Palm Springs ƒ/22 successfully recorded an independent full length album, and two E.P.’s. in a total of two years time. Learning all of the latest technology at the time, ƒ/22 decided to do a trade off of the equipment with close friends and embarked on another life changing exploration, to the big bad bay he went. Fragments of ideas spawned into what is now an upcoming director of photography, and an independent documentary and music video filmmaker. While studying film as an undergraduate at the academy of art university peripheral visions unlocked as ƒ/22 identified the power film has in today’s world. Getting a tight grasp on each department of filmmaking, ƒ/22 leans strongly towards principal photography, with parallel belief in directing documentary.
Believing that light is the ultimate paint brush, he spends time piecing together high-concept stories, for a high concept world. Documentaries, gallery exhibits, experimental & narrative films are only a few shades of gray from ƒ/22. metaphorical juxtaposes are just one point of view for ƒ/22 while keeping busy doing freelance post-production editing, color correcting and still photography work. ƒ/22 stands firm on the obvious idea that he can and will not be stopped as an artist. Being a witness that art imitates life and life imitates art is definitely embedded into ƒ/22’s modus operandi, and to penetrate the world with his vision and palette is a professional long term goal. ƒ/22 believes that the world of documentaries and just good ol'e stories is one of the greatest ways of speaking to the world, still it largely challenges him to date. With an everlasting ambition to head to the top he is not about to look back, only forward. Breaking through into the film industry will then allow for him to return to producing music which will merge itself together with his arsenal of techniques and aesthetics. In short, all that and a bag of kettle chips.
