Karen Mirza and Brad Butler live and work in London and have had a collaborative practice for 13 years. They have exhibited in many group exhibitions including ‘Evolution’ Leeds City Art Gallery, ‘The Expanded Eye’ Kunsthaus Zurich, ‘New Work UK’ Whitechapel Gallery, Architecture and Film Biennale Graz, ‘Vertical and Horizontal’ Serpentine Pavilion and ‘A Certain Tendency in Representation’ at Thomas Dane gallery. They have also frequently shown work at film festivals including IDFA Amsterdam, London Film Festival, New York Film Festival and Transmediale for which they were nominated for the Transmediale award 2010. Mirza and Butler were winners of the 2008/9 production grant of the The Museum of Contemporary Cinema Foundation Madrid and their work The Museum of non Participation has been commissioned by Artangel - one of the most prestigious art organisations in the Uk.
