Filip Sterckx(1985, Leuven) got his master degree in Animation Film in 2007 at Sint Lukas Brussels. During his studies he developed a unique animation technique. His graduation short film "Stroom" was selected at several prestigious festivals in Europe, such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam (Prix UIP Nominee), Hamburg International Short Film Festival, International Short Film Festival Leuven, …
He managed to get funding from the flemish audiovisual fund to develop his new short film.
Since 2004 he also works as a VJ. In 2006 he won the audience award at the International VJ-competition Visual Sensations at Paradiso, Amsterdam. Since then he has performed in clubs/festivals such as Impakt Festival Utrecht, Eurosonic Groningen, Fuse Brussels, Silo Leuven, Vooruit Gent, Festival aan de werf Utrecht, Rubenhuis Antwerpen, Noxx, Het Depot, … He has also made (live)visuals for different dance and theatre pieces.
For the electro-duo Bodyspasm he has created several video-clips.
Recently he started to create installations, in februari 2009 he had his first exposition at the Kulturama Festival Leuven.
