2 months agoMB commented on Newbie help on uploading HDHi All, Would appreciate some pointers here! I've looked in the FAQ, which are very good, but don't see to cover what I need. If i've missed then my apologies, and if you could show me a link. So I have recorded some HD video on a Sony SR10 camcorder (some in normal HD and some in the highest quality mode) and want to load these to Vimeo. I have a PC with 2gb memory and running on Windows XP. The PC has Windows Movie Maker, and some software which came with the camcorder. So how do I get the AVHCD files from it onto here? I see stuff about encoding too? Do I need Vegas software or will Windows Media player do the job? Wors't comes to the worst I can just upload them in converted WMV but would kind of like to get the best from my HD footage! Help appreciated.

2 months agoMB commented on Best recording format where camera will be subject to vibrationsI just used my Sony SR10 HD on a race track in the car and the hard drive crashed within seconds. Just doesn't like bumps. Using a memory card worked perfectly :)

2 months agoMB commented on Video camera formats?I guess so, Perrone. But once the camera is setup in the car it should just be a case of pressing record. I've used bullet style cameras in the car before and not really needed to edit too much. I would probably want to trim bits, and add subtitles here and there but not sound / music. Thanks and advice appreciated :)

2 months agoMB commented on Video camera formats? Thanks for the reply! So I can take it from your response that I do need some editing software? I'm not sure you get anything with a Sony? I was sort of hoping that I could record some footage, plug the camcorder into the PC, drag the file off and just upload it to Vimeo with no hassle about converting etc.
