Leonard’s telecommunications career took off when he joined the production department of KEZI TV in Eugene, running camera for their live newscasts for 18 months. Shortly afterwards, Leonard began his work filming TV commercials, and for the past 12 years has worked with Chambers Productions.
Leonard’s experience with KEZI and Chambers Productions has led to opportunities to work with Good Morning America, The Discovery Channel, CNN, ABC Sports, ESPN, Rosie O’Donnell, The Travel Channel and many others, as well as winning 18 national awards for his work.
No matter where you are in your career—student or professional—there is more to learn!
And Leonard’s ‘Lighting For Videos’ workshop will help you take your skills to the next level. And you’ll have fun doing it!
Leonard Henderson was born and raised in the Chicago area through high school, and came to Oregon for college. An accomplished athlete, Leonard was a State Champion gymnast and an All-American gymnast every year that he competed in college. After college, from 1976 to 1978, he taught girls’ gymnastics at the National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics here in Eugene.
WHY DEVELOP THE WORKSHOP?
It’s hard to learn the nuances of lighting people and objects in the classroom, and without the hands-on experience of a job situation or comfortable, interactive practice situation, the skills just aren’t developed.
These workshops allow for that growing experience. Good lighting for video is one of the most important ways to capture emotions and feelings. And by capturing that, you will capture the hearts and souls of the people who watch your videos.
No matter how good your photography is; aesthetic, angles, shots; without good lighting, it will just look average. In today’s job world, employers want to hire people who can do “more” than someone else can. It’s no longer enough to just “get by” with your skills.
If you want to learn the lighting skills to take your portfolio & resume to the next level, this lighting workshop is for you!
