Fezz Hoo is a multi-disciplinary artist who deals with motion graphics, interactive art and digital animation. Fezz is deeply influenced by works from Richard Linklater (Waking Life, A Scanner Darkly), Michel Gondry (Science of Sleep, Tokyo!), Shinji Kimura (Tekkon Kinkreet) and Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed). He is also an avid Processing user, programming codes to form 'Calculated' animation art. He produces many animated visual installation for use in independent music gigs and arts fest. His works also won him several awards, his famous ‘As Daylight Dies’ animation for NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AGENCY electricity campaign which was featured in TV Mobile islandwide. He also achieved ‘Gold’ and ‘Best Of Show’ in ICON DESIGN Awards 2008 for his Interactive art work 'Reforestation', which was known for its unique art style. One of the highlights throughout his artistic education is being selected to go to Massachusetts Institute of Technology for internship at Gambit Gamelab where he learned more about Game Design and its development under teachings and guidances by mavericks Prof. Henry Jenkins III (Author of Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide) and Prof. William Uricchio (Media Cultures). After completing his Diploma in Multimedia Arts at Nanyang Academy Of Fine Arts, Fezz worked as a Lead Animator on the Opening/Closing ceremonies of the Inaugural Youth Olympic Games producing animations and multimedia contents for the show. In late 2010 he traveled to his dreamland, USA and continue to study CG at Gnomon School Of Visual Effects in Hollywood. He aspires to be an all rounded professional visual effects artist.
