Riyad Is a Jordanian/Canadian Architect. He earned his bachelor of architecture (BArch) with distinction from Carleton University School of Architecture / Ottawa in 2009.
He earned his Master of Architecture (MArch) at the Emergent Technologies & Design program of the AA School of Architecture/ London 2011-2012. His thesis entitled ‘HYbrid BIOStructures’ received a lot of attention and was awarded a Distinction.
Thesis work is focused on non-linear logistics of novel building construction, aided with computer simulation. The methodology of his research revolves around developing a material system composed by the hybridization of compressive casting materials and tensile membranes, to develop a simple method of constructing doubly curved surfaces.
