Originally from Boston, Marcus Roberts aka "DJ Excel The Mixmaster" caught the Hiphop bug in the early 80's, he was a break-dancer, graffiti tagger, & rapper (then known as RCA).
In 1990 he hosted a Hiphop show called "Another Def Jam" with DJ Audi on 90.3 FM WZBC Boston College Radio for two years which lead him to interview & meet Queen Latifah, Krs One, A Tribe Called Quest, MC Lyte, Kurtis Blow, Public Enemy, Nice & Smooth, DJ Premier, Guru, Jeru Da Damaja + many more of Hip hops elite.
In 1995 "DJ Excel The Mixmaster" along with Underground Productions (Brad Young & Dow Brain), released on his own label Lady Lee's "Situation" (female reggae chat over Channel Live's "Madizm") that landed him his first record deal on Signet Records. That record was played all around the world and landed at Number 4 on Gavin's Reggae College charts.
Frustrated & wanting to be taken seriously, "DJ Excel The Mixmaster" moved to New York City in 1996 to pursue a career in the music industry as a Producer/Remixer.

Excel saids: "I love dancing, and as a dj/remixer/producer I love making people react to a record."
"I love to make people dance.. So I'll take hot hiphop/r&b/reggae accapellas and put them over samples/break beats.. so that dj 's in da club or the mixshow..can make it HOT..
I love studying the Indian, Latin, African, & Asian cultures and I am curious about other cultures as well. I've dj'd across the East Coast and as far away as Asia, Europe & Switzerland. I'd like to travel to Spain, Asia, The Middle East, and Italy etc.. The whole world really!!!
I'm very artistic & creative.
