Daniel Higgins is a Melbourne based filmmaker, dedicated to the making of new and contemporary film. Currently completing his Masters in Directing Narrative at the Victorian College of the Arts, Daniel is known for his talents in directing and writing, along with his highly stylised aesthetics and beautifully detailed work. Previously to studying at the VCAM , Daniel successfully completed a Bachelor of Screen Production at Holmesglen Institute and an Advanced Diploma in Screen Writing at RMIT.
Daniel has made a number of successful Short films, including Rainface (2009), Luke (2012) and his most recent film Thurlow the Prince of Giants (2013), which was praised highly by the faculty at VCA and is currently taking on the international short film circuit.
Daniels professional experience is extensive, including a vast number of projects spanning multiple genres and art forms. He has worked as a documentary maker, a scriptwriter and editor, and has been most recently acting as a production consultant for a new TV series.
