The Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance:
Founded in 1975, MWPA is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to enrich the cultural life of Maine by supporting writers, publishers, and the literary arts. It is the only organization in Maine devoted solely to advancing literature and the writing life.

David William Turner:
I am a freelance writer, filmmaker, and video producer. I work out of Portland, Maine and New York, New York. I am also the Special Assistant to the Poet Laureate at the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance in Portland, Maine.

I help run all initiatives for the Maine Poet Laureate, Wesley McNair, including Take Heart: A Conversation In Poetry, a weekly column supplied to more than 25 newspapers throughout the state of Maine.
