Hello - this is a little bit about me...
I was born in Tokyo, Japan and moved to Seattle in the U.S. where I currently live and work. I'm a visual artist who work in various mediums including glass, fiber, video, and most recently sound.
My Glass Pyrograph drawings are made by molten glass and fire, capturing and eternalizing the immediacy of a moment, while my installations and time-based work are about ever-changing states of mind.
My work has been exhibited and included in the collections internationally, including The Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo, Seattle Art Museum, and Bellevue Arts Museum in Washington, and some of my projects have been supported by numerous grants, including Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant, Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and National Endowment for the Arts.
