Rigo Montenegro may be a new, fresh face on television, but he is no stranger to the TV business in the Rio Grande Valley.
As a native of San Benito, Rigo has always had a passion for television, especially involving sports. Throughout high school, he was part of the award-winning team at KSBG, San Benito High School’s television station, and focused on covering Greyhound football. In 2006, Rigo began working for another RGV affiliate. He worked behind the scenes, soaking in all the information he could, patiently waiting for his big break as a TV personality.

As an editor/videographer, Rigo was instrumental in the successful production of hit shows such as “48 Hours Mystery” and “Cops.”
Rigo graduated with a Bachelors degree in communications from the University of Texas-Pan American.
In 2010, Rigo got his big break at Fox 2 News when he was hired to become the station’s sports anchor the 9 o’clock newscast. As a sports anchor, Rigo is excited about covering high school football and sharing his sports knowledge with his viewers.
In his spare time you can find Rigo watching sports, working on muscle cars and experimenting with photography and videography.

If you see Rigo out and about, be sure to say hi and share some of your sports ideas or just email him at rigoanthony@gmail.com
