BT Jackson began her cinematography career shooting documentaries for Fire Escape Films while attending the University of Chicago. In Chicago she spent her spare time lighting fashion shows, circuses, and concerts.
Jackson received an MFA from the University of Southern California's Cinema Television Program. She worked her way up electric-side, gaffing a top ranked web series Clean-up Crew as well as the independent feature Detention featuring David Carradine.
As a cinematographer she has shot music videos for a variety of up-and-coming artists and has worked on commercials for Habitat for Humanity, Cedar Sinai Hospital, Naem Denim, JibJab, and Sprint among others. She recently has returned to her roots, shooting and camera operating on a number of documentary/reality productions ranging from the creator of LA Gang Tours to following the host of So You Think You Can Dance in the Yahoo! sponsored web series In The Dressing Room with Cat Deeley.
Other productions of note are the web series, Better, supported by the National MS Society, and a contender in the Latino International Film Festival, the independent feature, The Forest, an official selection of the Bel Air Film Festival and distributed by Lightning Entertainment, and Good Grief, anofficial selection of the Newport Beach Film Festival.
She has experience with all major HD formats including the Canon 5D, XDCAM, Sony EX1 and EX3, Panasonic HPX300, RED Epic, RED Scarlet, and the ARRI Alexa.
